Baby Yoga |
|
Share songs, kinesthetic movements, and nurturing massage with your baby, age 6 weeks to very active crawling stage. Gentle yoga stretches for moms help loosen up tired backs and shoulders, and regain abdominal awareness. Meet other moms and babies, and find support during the emotional transitions of motherhood. Dads and other caregivers are encouraged to join too!
Medical research confirms the benefit of massage and touch for growth and development, improving sleep patterns, and reducing stress levels in babies. Massage also has many physiological benefits, and may help reduce discomfort from gas and colic. Babies explore and interpret their world primarily through touch – sharing massage is a wonderful and fun way to communicate and bond with your baby!
“My husband and I both decided to take the baby massage class so that both of us could bond with our baby. We learned some fun games and songs that we probably would not have learned had we not gone to the class, and my baby loves them! We have incorporated massage into our nighttime routine and this calms our baby down and prepares him for sleep that usually lasts all night (not sure how much the massage plays a role in this, but I will never skip a massage at night, even if it is only 30 seconds long). So whether it is me or my hubby who puts him to bed, my son knows he will get a massage. Another great thing about this class is it gets women together with babies who are about the same age. The women in my class still meet and share baby things months after the class has ended. This class is a must for new moms (and dads)!”
-Shelby, Ryan and baby Tucker
"Thank you so much for all of your help, Tara! I know that your encouragement and knowledge of prenatal yoga helped me so much for the birth of Ismael. I am so grateful for your instruction. I recommend your classes to everyone that is pregnant. And thank you for the baby massage, you are an amazing teacher. I learned so much. The classes helped me to bond with Ismael through the massage. I use it almost every night, it’s part of our bedtime routine. It helps to calm down Ismael.”

NEW! Weekly Breastfeeding Support Group with Tara Stivers |
|
Begins Jan 12 Thursdays 12 - 1:15 pm Suggested donation $5-10
Whether you are becoming a mother for the first time or the fifth time, one of the most significant contributors to the success and enjoyment of breastfeeding is the support for your decision to do so from those around you. Come get answers to your questions, share your experiences and find or lend a sympathetic ear in a friendly and supportive environment. We discuss everything from breastfeeding your newborn, to pumping, to going back to work, as well as more general topics such as infant behavior, sleep patterns, soothing fussy babies and starting solids. Breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding your baby!
We welcome all new mothers and their nursing babies, whether exclusively breastfeeding, partially breastfeeding, pumping and feeding, or navigating the weaning process. A scale is available to weigh your baby.
This weekly drop-in group is facilitated by Tara Stivers, a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), certified doula, prenatal/parent educator, and mom.
No registration is required. There is no fee to attend, however a donation of $5 - $10 is appreciated to help cover costs.

Audrey,
Thank you so much for the
Baby Yoga classes. Jeannette and I enjoyed them so much! We continue
to do some massage at home after her bath. She loves when I massage her
legs.
We appreciate all you
taught us.
Thank You!
Gina and Jeannette Garcia
