Gentle Yoga |
A daytime class for older adults or those who have a physical challenge. Gentle movements and slow smooth breathing enhance flexibility, strength, balance, and motor coordination. Use of guided meditation and restorative postures also makes this an excellent class for stress management.
|
Seniors 70++ |
Gentle stretching, breathing and balance exercises for seniors who require more attention and a slower pace. Participants should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, and be able to stand unassisted. You will not be required to get down on the floor for this class. Taught by the owner and director of the Camarillo Yoga Center, Audrey Walzer, who specializes in Therapeutic Yoga.
|
Gentle Basics |
If you haven’t been exercising in awhile, or have some physical or health challenges, this class is for you. An evening class, to accommodate those who work during the day. This class will provide physical exercise focusing on joint mobility, increasing range of motion, strengthening and body awareness in a way that is accessible for all adults, regardless of age or level of fitness. Breathing techniques and guided meditation will help you reduce stress and increase systemic health |
Basics |
If you are new to yoga, this class is designed for you to learn the fundamentals. Asana (physical postures) are broken down into easy-to-follow components. You will also learn breathing
techniques and simple meditation practices to reduce stress, while strengthening and revitalizing your body.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have not been exercising in awhile or have
physical or health challenges, the Gentle/Basics or Gentle Yoga classes may be more appropriate for you to begin. If you are not sure, please call Audrey at 484-8810 to discuss which class might best meet your needs. |
Lunchtime Yoga |
A basics yoga class you can
fit into your lunch hour! Stretch, breathe, recharge for the
afternoon ahead..
|
Intermediate |
A more challenging class for adults with no injuries or physical challenges who understand the basics of yoga asana alignment. Pranayama and meditation are also part of this practice. If you are new to yoga, begin in the basics class. Your instructor will guide you to the Intermediate class if it’s appropriate. There are really no “levels” in yoga, so do the practice that is right for your body and mind today, without competing, even with yourself! |
Power Yoga |
A Saturday morning yoga flow guided “workout” to contemporary and rock music. Develop your core strength, endurance, focus, and flexibility, and have fun, too! For safety, this class is only for Intermediate or Advanced practitioners, who understand asana alignment. By instructor’s permission.
|
Therapeutic Yoga |
Private classes with Audrey, Director of the Yoga Center, to address specific physical challenges or chronic conditions. Audrey will work with you and your physician, chiropractor or physical therapist, if desired, to design a program for healing, stress and trauma reduction, and pain relief. |
