This picture of our daytime Yoga 1 class shows seniors in Warrior 2, a practice that develops hip flexibility, leg and core strength, balance and concentration. We use props like blocks and chairs to support the torso in lateral movements, and open the hips.
The daytime Yoga 1 class is a great place for seniors to begin yoga, but many younger adults attend this class also. It is a good place to become familiar with the fundamentals of yoga, and to move slowly and gently, especially if you have had an injury, or deal with a chronic condition.
If you are more limited in your movements, are dealing with a chronic physical issue, or have a very limited range of motion, you might consider beginning in our Ultra Gentle Yoga class.
