Begins Friday Feb 3 4:30 – 5:45 pm 6 week session $90 Includes unlimited adult yoga classes.
This dedicated class for girls 12 - 17 provides a safe, non-competitive place to be with other girls, work with their bodies and their emotions, and de-stress from the whirlwind of school, social life, and texting! Yoga helps athletic girls learn to balance their sport with stretching and breathing, and girls who don’t do sports feel good about moving where they won’t be compared with others. The Friday evening time is a great way for girls to wind down from the school week. And, when they join our teen class, unlimited regular classes are included, so they can come to yoga as often as they like.

NEW! Weekly Breastfeeding Support Group with Tara Stivers |
|
Thursdays 12 - 1:15 pm Suggested donation $5-10
Whether you are becoming a mother for the first time or the fifth time, one of the most significant contributors to the success and enjoyment of breastfeeding is the support for your decision to do so from those around you. Come get answers to your questions, share your experiences and find or lend a sympathetic ear in a friendly and supportive environment. We discuss everything from breastfeeding your newborn, to pumping, to going back to work, as well as more general topics such as infant behavior, sleep patterns, soothing fussy babies and starting solids. Breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding your baby!
We welcome all new mothers and their nursing babies, whether exclusively breastfeeding, partially breastfeeding, pumping and feeding, or navigating the weaning process. A scale is available to weigh your baby.
This weekly drop-in group is facilitated by Tara Stivers, a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), certified doula, prenatal/parent educator, and mom. No registration is required. There is no fee to attend, however a donation of $5 - $10 is appreciated to help cover costs.

Camarillo Yoga Center “First Decade” Anniversary Celebration
& Fundraiser for RAIN Transitional Living for Homeless Families |
| |
On Sunday October 2, our whole Camarillo Yoga Community came out with friends and family for a full day of yoga classes and workshops, and partied during the evening! Hank & Carole Wadsworth played guitar and flute, followed by our special guest, world-renowned singer/songwriter Donna DeLory. We sang, we danced, we talked about old times and enjoyed Komali Nunna’s luscious desserts. We celebrated our first decade together with gratitude for the many blessings in our lives, the gift of yoga and our yoga friends.
We demonstrated our gratitude by donating our fees for classes and the special event admission to RAIN Communities, Transitional Living Center for Homeless Families in Camarillo. Tina McDonald, Director of RAIN described the RAIN Program, which helps homeless families back to functional, productive lives. A former resident who we will call John spoke also, and his articulation of the dignity RAIN restored in him as a father and a man left nary a dry eye in the house. This program really is a hand up, not simply a hand-up, and we were all elated at our final fundraising tally for the day: $7,300 and a truckload of usable items like diapers, childrens clothing, supplies of all kinds.
To find out how you can help homeless families and children, by donation, volunteering, and in so many other ways, visit: www.raincommunities.org
To see more pictures of our event, and stay current with everything we are doing, visit us on Facebook, and join the Camarillo Yoga Friends group!
Here’s to our second decade of good health and community service! |
