A message from Audrey Walzer, Yoga Center Owner & Director:

You’ve found us!
This means you are interested in learning more about yoga… what a great start… …because what makes me really sad is when people tell me they “can’t do yoga.” They’re too stiff, too fat, too injured, too athletic, too old, too busy.. and more! Our Camarillo Yoga slogan is: Yoga is for Every Body, because it is!

Yoga is not only for the flexible and young, and yoga practice changes, depending on your body & mind today, at this time in your life. Camarillo Yoga provides classes which will benefit you, regardless if you are “too whatever.” From group classes where the median age is 85 years, to athletic power yoga and therapeutic one-one-one sessions- if you really want to practice yoga, we will give you everything we’ve got, and I guarantee, you will feel it working, both physically and emotionally.

The other sad comment is: “I tried yoga; it wasn’t for me.” Not all yoga is the same! If you tried yoga at a gym or other venue where the teacher was moving at a fast pace and everyone was following along just trying to keep up, give yoga another chance, with us. We teach you yoga. Obviously, any yoga practice requires patience and persistence, and you will feel like a beginner at first, by definition, but… it’s worth it. Yoga is one of the only physical activities you can do which is not an end in itself, and instead a tool to help you do the other things you like to do, from sports to travelling to general life activities, with more physical ease and greater mental clarity and emotional balance. If you think yoga is only for “new age woo-woos” or for bendy women… read our teacher descriptions… we are regular people, just like you, and we have all found yoga to be a gift in our lives.

Camarillo Yoga is not an anonymous workout center. We are a community of people who enjoy one another’s company, enjoy practicing together, and welcome newcomers with a smile and a helping hand. Scroll through our pages here to find out more, and please feel free to call or email me with any questions. We are looking forward to sharing yoga with you!

E-mail me with any questions!

NEW! Weekly Breastfeeding Support Group with Tara Stivers

 Thursdays                   12 - 1:15 pm               Suggested donation $5-10

Whether you are becoming a mother for the first time or the fifth time, one of the most significant contributors to the success and enjoyment of breastfeeding is the support for your decision to do so from those around you. Come get answers to your questions, share your experiences and find or lend a sympathetic ear in a friendly and supportive environment. We discuss everything from breastfeeding your newborn, to pumping, to going back to work, as well as more general topics such as infant behavior, sleep patterns, soothing fussy babies and starting solids. Breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding your baby!
We welcome all new mothers and their nursing babies, whether exclusively breastfeeding, partially breastfeeding, pumping and feeding, or navigating the weaning process. A scale is available to weigh your baby.
This weekly drop-in group is facilitated by Tara Stivers, a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), certified doula, prenatal/parent educator, and mom. No registration is required. There is no fee to attend, however a donation of $5 - $10 is appreciated to help cover costs.
